Isn’t it amazing how a new hair cut can give you a different perspective on the world? Well, okay that might be a little over zealous. I’m still excited to have healthy, beautiful, and long (though about 5 inches shorter) hair. I liked this new hair stylist. I just got my hair cut not a color though I may adventure and have it colored there as well… she was quiet and sweet which was a lot better than having someone loud and obnoxious. Not that my last hairdresser was, she is just far away and I hate her receptionist. Anyway, I’d like to start writing again and so with a few inches shorter of hair maybe my brain will work better! Or maybe it was that fantastic head massage while she was washing my hair… the world may never know!

It’s been awhile since I have taken the time to write. I have been reading A LOT though! So far this year I have read 41 books, and my goal is 50. According to goodreads.com I am 7 books ahead and since it is only September I have a feeling that I will definitely reach my goal of 50. Last year I only read 35 books, but I also didn’t set my goal until March or something… Anyway! I just came up with a magical idea and I wanted to share it! It doesn’t really have anything to do with reading… but it does have to do with knitting so I hope that you don’t mind.
I have been looking for a pattern program from my iPhone that is 1) Free and 2) can keep track of what row you are on including the pattern. I can not find it. I even asked my husband to create the program for me but he refused because it is an iPhone. Although, he also refused when I had an android, so let’s just call him a jerk for saying no.
ANYWAY… I have come up with a plan that I have not put into action yet except for the fact that I have taken the time to put in a pattern that I want to try. I should probably explain what it is I am doing first before I get into to much detail about what I have already done.
So, here is the plan.
Use a to do app that I have already downloaded (for Free) as a row counter that also shows what part of the pattern!!! I can’t believe how smart I am. Why have I not thought of this before? I hope to include some pictures… we’ll see!

I finally started writing my book. Of course, it's been about a week since I started and I only wrote about 2 paragraphs before I was done, but hey it's a start! I will have to start making it a habit to work on it every single day so that I actually finish it.
I also started knitting a blanket, of course 2 weeks into the project I noticed a huge mistake and had to take it all out. I haven't had the heart to start over again yet. When I finally get that done it will be gorgeous... course it was more of a throw than a blanket anyway.
I have had a huge urge to do a lot of crafty stuff lately but I haven't really haven't had the time, or given myself the time to finish any projects. I'll have to figure out what are my priorities I suppose... had to happen some time :)
We also cancelled the cable, which somehow brought our bill down over $100 a month... CRAZY!! I've just been watching all my shows on Hulu.com and through Amazon. It works really well because I usually have Wednesdays off and Tuesday night is a very big night for my shows so I have something to do before I really get up and start moving around on Wednesdays.
I have applied for a job in Seattle. Still waiting to hear back and see if I am the right person for a job. If not, we have been pre-approved for a loan on a house/condo. Wednesday we are going to go take a look at some places in Ventura and Oxnard. Unfortunately, we probably won't be able to get something extremely close to Santa Barbara, but that means I'll get to do a lot more driving and listening to my music and books on tape again... Guess that means I should update my ipod... it has been awhile.
I'm still trying to read more books on top of everything else! I have a Kindle Fire and I absolutely love it, but it does take away from the strictly reading aspect of having an e-book reader. There are so many more things that I can do with it, so I am less likely to actually pick up a book and read it, unless it is a book that has me hooked. I have yet to really find one of those this year, so wish me luck on that!!!
